Murray is a 44 year old Christian woman who writes, edits, teaches, counsels, speaks, learns, sings, ministers, and--above all--constantly seeks a deeper and closer walk with God. she doesn't like religiosity or pretension and doesn't believe God does either. She also doesn't like anti-pretension to become an excuse for uncontrolled behavior. Crystal desires to be the best she can be for God, circumcised in heart toward Him while keeping her walk with Him simple as stated in Micah 6:6-8. She believes in personal integrity which means she does her best to be honest, moral, ethical, and sincere. Some of Crystal's suggestions to avoid setting a bad example for the name and/or cause of Christ (since she believes God pays the ultimate price for this) include the following: Love the Lord God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength; don't be judgmental (but be discerning as God leads); avoid pride (but be confident in God); be humble (but not humiliated); be a peace-maker (though not necessarily a peace-keeper); and finally, avoid passing around untruths, hoaxes, or urban legends (verify everything you believe with God, the Bible, and/or http:www.snopes.com.)
WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN WRITER
To me, a Christian writer is a Christian who writes. I don't believe Christian writers must write only Christian material anymore than I believe Christian photographers must only take pictures of churches & steeples. My difference (and what I think should be the difference for every Christian writer) is in my Editor...
The Lord is My Editor, I shall rewrite.
He lays me down in green pastures
- of fresh ideas.
He leads me by the quiet torrents
He develops my characters and subjects.
He leads me from beginnings to middles,
Yea, though my protagonist walks
- through pages of shadows of death,
he fears not the antagonist,
God's red pen and word-processor
God prepares new writers' books before me
He anoints my printer with ink;
Surely acceptance - and paychecks -
And I shall dwell in my home office
